A couple of days ago, XXL Magazine and Hennessy hosted their Remixed Event starring Kendrick Lamar.
We caught up with Detroit’s own, Danny Brown back stage, where we talked about his goal of making the coveted XXL Freshman List, the music scene out in Detroit, what made him sign with Fool’s Gold Records, and plenty more.
Every now and then, we get so caught up in the creative works one puts out into the world that we often overlook the inner-workings of the actual person. And sometimes, when we take a peek inside the mind of an artist, we find that they are just as interesting as the art.
We caught up with Mr. East New York himself, Uncle Murda in midtown during a studio session where we discussed his upcoming project, Warning, working with Mariah Carey, his stage name, his relationship with Jay-Z, and a lot more.
Last week, Atlanta’s Roscoe Dash was in New York for the album listening of his upcoming EP, J.U.I.C.E. (Just Understand I Control Everything), which drops on December 20th.
We were also in attendance to listen to the project, as well as talk to the newcomer about hailing from ATL, gaining respect in the music business, how he views other artsits, and plenty more.
Here’s an interview we did with Nick Javas a while back, who happens to be signed to DJ Premier’s Year Round Records label. The story got lost in the shuffle in between other pieces we had beforehand, but we were still able to rescue it.
During the piece, the New Jersey lyricist talks about hooking up with Preemo, first getting into Hip-Hop, the music seen in Jersey, and plenty more.
