This a debate that will forever be a draw. All four lyrical wordsmiths bring something to the table that makes them the various of names people have come up for them. This powerhouse, super-group, mic murderous, four headed monster and of course the name that just describes it all SLAUGHTERHOUSE is damn near impossible to say whose the best and comes down to personal preference. (And i know that this is what the question is but just to reemphasize the difficulty around it.) Main one just being where your from. If your from the West coast you gone say Crooked I, if you from Jerz you gone say Jump OFF, and depending what city your from where most of the Hip Hop Pioneers have come out from you will say Royce from Detroit or and Joell from of course New York. They all make each other "better MCs in the booth" as said by one another because they know if they don't bring it "they will cleaned up on a track" (Crooked I). Being a virgin of the group back in 09 when they released their debut album I IGNORANTLY had a bias opinion only toward Nickel and Joell because of their street hop and Road Kill projects. I only knew Mouse from his Pump it Up classic but not really a fan and not knowing the West coast king at all, I only looked forward to hearing their verses. But as the years went by and listening to that classic Slaughterhouse album and EP more than once I quickly gained respect and became a fan of the remaining half of the machine. Nickel brings the energy at the beginning of every song that sets the tone, Joey always has memorable lines that are humorous, and monstrous like in the Shady Cypher where i quickly became a fan of him right after, Joell lines are always heartfelt like damn i need to go back and hear that again, like dude said up their never takes a verse off. and Crooked I.... after the Shady Cypher and Hard White Remix, The Illest, and DEFIANTLY after that Hot 97 funkmaster flex freestlye, Im always eager to hear how he comes in on a track. I AM A DIE HARD SLAUGHTERHOUSE fan now and cant wait for that album to drop in April and Its hard to say who may favorite is when i love the group but if i had to choose one my personal preference is Royce nickel 9. And what makes this so hard is their all up and down. Their all always gonna kill a track but one day Royce is gone kill and another day Joe gone kill, and one day Joell gone kill, and Crook gone kill so I mean bottom they are the illest in the rap game right now best group presently and in my opinion will be the best group that ever did it someday.
